Registering for an ESL Class at the Community Center


Read and practise the following conversation:

Staff: Good morning. Welcome to the community center.

Visitor: Good morning.

Staff: How can I help you today?

Visitor: I want to register for an English class.

Staff: Sure. We have English classes for CLB level 3 and level 4.

Visitor: What is the difference?

Staff: Level 3 is for basic English. Level 4 is a little higher.

Visitor: I think level 3 is good for me.

Staff: Okay. We have morning and evening classes.

Visitor: What time is the morning class?

Staff: Monday to Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Visitor: That works for me.

Staff: We also offer free childcare during class time.

Visitor: That is very helpful. Thank you.

Staff: You’re welcome. We also give free bus tickets for students who need them.

Visitor: That’s great.

Staff: Please fill out this form. Classes start next week.

Visitor: Okay. Thank you very much.
