Starting and Ending a Conversation
Read and practise the following conversations. Notice how the speakers started and ended the conversation.
Conversation 1: The Weather (At a Bus Stop)
Setting: Two neighbours are waiting for the morning bus.
Safe Topic: Weather & Seasonal Changes
Openers: "Cold morning, isn't it?"

Closers: "Here comes the bus. Have a good day at work!"
Dialogue:
Amina: Cold morning, isn't it?
Mark: It sure is! I think it might snow later today.
Amina: Oh no, really? I didn't bring my thick winter coat.
Mark: Yeah, the weather forecast said it will drop to minus two this afternoon.
Amina: Thanks for telling me! I'll make sure to get home early. Look, here comes the bus. Have a good day at work!
Mark: You too! Stay warm!
