“Adjectives” versus “Adverbs”

- Adjectives modify or describe nouns and pronouns.

Example:

- Ragia (noun) is beautiful (adjective).

- The small (adjective) class (noun) is quiet. (adjective)


- It (pronoun) is sunny (adjective) and warm (adjective).

- This one (pronoun) is expensive.(adjective)


- Adverbs modify or describe adjectives.

Example:

- Ragia is very (Adverb) beautiful (Adjective).

- Eddy is really (Adverb) tired (Adjective).


- Adverbs also modify or describe verbs.

Example:

-  Ragia cooks (verb) quickly (Adverb).

- They arrived (verb) early (Adverb).

 







- Adverbs modify other adverbs as well.

Example:

- Ragia visits her parents quite (Adverb) often (Adverb).

- She listens extremely (Adverb) carefully (Adverb).
